The family business JOHA is Scandinavia's largest producer of woolen clothes for babies and children. The company was started in 1963 and this year celebrates 50 years. From the start 50 years ago, JOHA's focus has always been on uncompromising quality, use of the finest wool, sustainable production and good design. Joha was the first manufacturer of wool underwear and has been Europe's leading manufacturer for over 35 years. Wool has many unique properties, which make it a perfect material for clothes. It has fantastic heat insulating properties that heat when it is cold and cool when it is hot. A nice material to have closest to the body when exercising or when the temperature fluctuates. Wool absorbs body moisture and can hold up to 40% of its weight without affecting the heat-insulating properties. It can be compared to cotton which can only handle 8%, so in this way the wool is much more efficient. Wool also does not need to be washed as often as non-natural materials, nor does it absorb odors to the same extent. JOHA values environmentally friendly production highly and was one of the first Danish companies to be certified with the EU ECO LABEL for its products. EU ECO LABEL certificates are only allowed for companies that can document that their products are made according to the EU's strict environmental standard. In addition, Woolmark has certified all JOHA products.
