It all started in 1983, when Tim Leatherman and his partner Steve Berliner started the company Pocket Survival Tool, PST. A few years later, they changed their name to Leatherman and they have since manufactured versatile tools that stand the test of time. The production of Leatherman tools takes place in Oregon in Portland and this has been done since the start.
The brand is characterized by innovation, quality and stability. Tim Leatherman has built the company through a simple philosophy; manufacture good products, specialize, have good quality of all products and strive for a healthy working environment for all employees. There are currently 400 employees at the company. The tools can be used in most environments and Leatherman has over the years presented a number of different models that have been a huge success; PST (as the original company name), Super Tool which is Leatherman's largest and strongest tool in the range, Wave and Skeletool. Within Leatherman's large range, we find a variety of categories; Heavy Duty - where there can be 19 or even 21 different parts in a tool. Full size - where you will find really good models such as Blast and Sidekick. Pocket size - these are very small and flexible, perfect to have in your pocket. Keychain - even smaller than pocket size, just as flexible. Pink program - this collection is special precisely because it supports breast cancer, hence the pink tools. Retired - These were specially made for the brand's 25th anniversary. Another important model that characterizes Leatherman is the Mini Tool, this is the world's smallest multifunctional tool.
Leatherman's multi-tool can handle really difficult conditions; knife, saw, scissors and cap opener are just some of the parts included in these tools. All in one, perfect to take with you when you are on an adventure, out in nature or just need one of these parts of everyday life. Tim, the founder, talks about Oregon and Leatherman: “Out here we do it all. And we make tools to help you do it all, too ”
