Norrøna was founded in 1929 by Jørgen Jørgensen, a man with a great interest in outdoor activities; everything from rock climbing and skiing to hunting out in the wilderness. He wanted to produce durable and durable clothes that would withstand Norway's harsh and uneven weather. It all started with simpler products such as backpacks and leather straps. When the company then started, they expanded the range and durable leather goods later, they also started to produce sleeping bags and outdoor clothing. During the war in Finland, in 1939, Norrøna was responsible for the equipment.

It was in the 70s that Norrøna started making clothes, they started with anoraks and warm jackets. In 1977, Norrøna manufactured Europe's first Gore-Tex jacket. After that, the clothing collections have only grown and become more every year. Some of the largest collections are: Bitihorn- thin and flexible garments for running, / 29- garments for all kinds of activities that require a little extra work, Trollveggende- the perfect garments to wear on the mountain top, Svalbard - necessary outdoor clothing and equipment and Finnskogen - everything you need when you are out in the wilderness. All garments are checked down to the smallest detail and also tested so that you can be sure that your garment works in all weathers. The mission is to make good products for people with an active lifestyle. Norrøna has ambassadors in the categories of climbing, skiing and outdoor life around the world. Among other things, you will find the freeriders Per Huss and Michael "Bird" Shaffer, the climber Hilde Bjørgaas and the adventurer Børge Ousland in Norrøna's stable.

Four generations later, the company is still family-owned and is today based near Oslo in Norway. Norrøna is for everyone who likes playful design and color as well as high quality and functionality. The company believes in the importance of solid craftsmanship, which is why they have never stopped designing, sewing, cutting and gluing by hand. Long service life means everything to Norrøna, so a new product is good, but a ten-year product is even better.
