It all started in 1984 when a group of climbers decided to climb Mount Everest. Six years later, a member of the gang, Tim Macacartney - Snape, went back and realized that none of those who had climbed the mountain had ever climbed the entire 8848 meters, starting from sea level. No one had climbed from sea to top, hence the name: Sea to summit. In 1990 it was time and after four months he finally reached, for the second time, the highest peak in the world. Tim's Mount Everest ascent was named "The sea to summit expedition."
Back in Australia, with experience and knowledge, Tim Macartney founded the company Sea to Summit, which would create skilled, well-made and most of all affordable outdoor equipment. Today, the brand continues to come up with new innovative tools and supplies a host of outdoor enthusiasts around the world. For Sea to Summit, it's about traveling right and easy!
