BOLA has focused on one thing since 1931 - knitting socks. And we're starting to get really good at it. Production and distribution Knitting of socks is done in Grönahög in Västergötland. From here, we handle all distribution and reach our Swedish customers in a fast and efficient way. We are a dedicated group that believes in Swedish quality when it is at its best. Some of us have many years of experience in socks, others have experience in other industries. With quality and knowledge, together with technology and design, we create unique socks that not only look good but also last in the long run. It is details that distinguish our socks from others. The care of the yarn, how the sock is knitted, its sewing and how it is pressed. Seams that do not chafe, elastic that makes the sock sit up without tightening. Careful inspection and quality control. Small, small details but oh so important for the result to be good. We are picky because we know what it is like to enjoy the run, feel the air on the hike, stretch after the match or the working day - without having to think about sore feet and evil blisters. Environmental policyFor us at BOLA, it is obvious to work for the environment and sustainable ecological and social development. We all have a responsibility and we take our part by:
Material selection The supplier When we make our purchases or choose a supplier, we always take into account how the supplier is involved in the environment, ethics and social issues. We only buy goods from suppliers who are certified and can guarantee that they comply with current legislation. Examples of certifications that our suppliers hold are ISO 14001, GOTS, bluesign, Oeko-Tex Standard 100. History1931 started production in Grönahög outside Ulricehamn. From the beginning, it was simpler socks. Helge and Bertil Olander formed the company Bröderna Olander AB in 1939. The production consisted mostly of work socks and coarse everyday socks. As the general interest in sports and leisure in Sweden grew during the 1970s, more and more different types of sports socks were manufactured. At the same time, BOLA was established as a brand. During the 1990s, the company was run by the sons Tage Olander and George Olande, towards the end Tage Olander took over the helm himself. 2008 The family business that is today owned by Mats Nilsson was sold. BOLA has also established itself strongly in markets such as orthopedics / foot therapy, industry and profile. The company has stable growth, which is largely due to a mix of competence, range, quality and flexibility.
